"Beer & Beethoven" 2015
Symphony Nova Scotia Fundraiser
"One"
This year's Beer and Beethoven event was off the charts! There is nothing comparative to painting live with the pounding of the symphony and the buzz of the room behind you.
This year's event was magical! Barely able to contain herself, Richelle sought to capture the magic of the "oneness" that was in the room - She wanted to capture the way in which we don't just sit and watch or listen to the symphony, we become one with the symphony. She wanted to show how we, the audience, embody the music. How, we frown when the base is playing; how we twitch in our seats with the stacatto notes.
But the moment she most wanted to capture was that moment 'when they are driving to the finale, and they are building and you are sitting up in your chair, getting taller and taller as the reach for that final note. And, we're all doing this collective inhale, reaching for it with them. And, they hold that note, and it is vibrating through our chests. They've got us all in their hand, driving to that final note, and they are holding it, and holding it, and then they let go, and we exhale. It is the exhilaration of that moment that brings us altogether, brings us together as one.'
